Home Business Tip: Learn to be Unhurried

learn to be unhurried

Growing a home business takes time. When I get an idea I tend to want to chase it 100 miles an hour until it is completed. For instance when I started building this sewing business online I had all of these ideas of what kind of classes I wanted to offer & the files that I would create to download for my readers. Bu the truth is this won’t happen over night and I can’t carry out all of these ideas today or tomorrow.

The Hour of Power podcast with Pastor Bobby Schuller is one of my favorites. Recently he has spoken a bit about not being in a hurry, because when we are in a hurry we miss the life that God has given us right now.

I find that hurry is often based on my expectations of myself and others. When I adjust my expectations to become more realistic I can relax and enjoy the journey to where I want to go.

Think about it.

What are the big plans you have for your business? Where do you want to be three to five years from now?

Remember you don’t get there by doing everything today. It is a matter of babysteps, moving toward your goal. I like to make practical goals for each week and each month. It gives me a more tangible sense that I am moving in the right direction.

Take time to rejoice in each small accomplishment – in each step of moving your business towards where you want to go. But don’t spend too much time lamenting at how far you have to go, because as long as you keep moving toward the goal you will get there.

It took me five years to transition into my home sewing business full-time. This was a steady process of one client at a time.

Don’t give up, you can do this!

Don’t be in a hurry!
